Well, I am. By "secret blogger" I mean that I have not told anyone about my blog... not family, not friends, not even my DH, DS, or DDs, the closest people in my life. It's not that I've written anything I would be embarrassed for family or friends to read. To me, it's about the freedom in the anonymity of my blog... I can write about anything and everything... I have "blog mates" who understand my interest in finances. By being a "secret blogger," I have no pressure to write every day nor do I have to discuss any of my posts with people who know me. Perhaps someday I'll tell friends or family about my SA blog, but for now I like it this way.
Are you a secret blogger?

If my friends & family knew, I'd have to think very carefully before writing anything... and definitely wouldn't include as much detail about my finances.

My dh knows and I doubt he cares about my blog, but he could read it, I don't care either way. I have told no one else.
A few people have been found out (other bloggers) so I try to be mindful in my posts in case anyone stumbles across it. Just to watch what I say. Even though I post in depth financial detail once in a while (I feel it is important), I usually delete it soon after. I don't need a friend stumbling across it and seeing all my financial details.

Another friend of mine knows about it because I sent her a couple humorous posts, and ended up telling her I was on the site too. She did mention she read my blog once and found it fascinating. I've no idea if she keeps up on it or not.
I really don't mind that much whether people know my financial situation. Correction: I don't want my dad to know, because he's such a frugal person and I think it would freak him out. He'd probably try to bail me out a bit, too, which I definitely don't want him to even think about.
But other people, I don't mind if they know. I got myself in this mess and I'm pretty open about my debt and my new frugal ways if finances comes up in conversation. I feel I could be a good example--both of what can happen if you're not smart with your money, and of how anyone can change their ways and improve their situation.
That said, obviously I use initials and cartoon pictures instead of my real identity, to maintain a certain amount of confidentiality. I'd rather only people I tell about the blog know, so I know they know. I'd feel weird if an old high school flame came across it and knew it was me and got some kind of schadenfreud out of it.
